About The Clarity Routine

Why I built this, and what changed when I stopped trying to be perfect.

I used to wake up hating myself.

Not every morning, but often enough. The pattern was always the same: New Year's comes. I download the latest habit app. I commit to my goals. For 3 days, I crush it. Then I miss one day. Then I tell myself I'm undisciplined. That I lack willpower. That I'm not the kind of person who can stick to routines.

What I didn't realize was that my willpower wasn't weak. My system was broken.

I spent three years studying habit formation — reading research, interviewing people who successfully changed their lives, experimenting on myself. And I discovered something nobody was talking about: the apps and systems everyone recommended all measured the same thing. Did you do it or not? Yes box or no box. Streak or broken streak.

But that misses the whole point. The yes-or-no doesn't matter. What matters is the system that makes the yes possible — or the no inevitable.

"You don't rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems." — James Clear was right about this part. But he wasn't complete. Most people don't actually know what's broken in their system because they never look at it.

That's why I created The Clarity Routine. Not as another app to guilt you into action. But as a way to see what's actually stopping you. Your Runway — the environmental setup. Your Friction — how hard it actually is to start. Your Signal — whether this feels like you or like a performance.

In 90 seconds a day, you get the insights that no checkbox ever reveals. You see the patterns. You fix the system. And then, the habit doesn't feel impossible anymore.

Today, I still miss habits sometimes. But I don't hate myself for it. Instead, I ask: what shifted in my system? What changed? And then I adjust.

That shift — from self-criticism to systems thinking — changed everything.
